  • Produced by The Document Foundation
  • Comparable to MS Office
  • Started out as OpenOffice
  • Free; multiplatform; very compatible

    • For version 3.5, but should still be OK

Overview

  • Start Center
  • Main Components
    • Writer (word processing)
    • Calc (spreadsheets)
    • Impress (presentations)
    • Draw (vector graphics)
    • Base (database)
    • Math (equation editor)
  • Enter User Data: LibreOffice > Preferences > User Data
  • Change document association (for MS Office compatibility)
    • LibreOffice Preferences > Load/Save > General > Document Type
    • Text document = Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP/2003 (.doc extension)
    • Spreadsheet = Microsoft Excel 97/2000/XP/2003 (.xls extension)
    • Presentation = Microsoft Powerpoint 97/2000/XP/2003 (.ppt extension)
    • Click OK
